Water Efficient Flowpoint Showerheads

Will a Flowpoint water saving shower head really save me money?

Without doubt. The cost of fitting a Flowpoint water saving showerhead can be recovered within 2/3 months or less depending on your existing shower’s flow rate. You can start saving immediately.

Will I still get good powerful showers with a water saving showerhead?

Fitting a water saving showerhead does not mean you will get inferior showers. The Flowpoint range of water efficient showerheads are designed to save on your Water and Energy Bills while not compromising on the invigorating and relaxing feel of a powerful shower.

Will a Flowpoint water saving showerhead work on my existing shower?

All Flowpoint water efficient showerheads will work on a Power Shower, Combi Shower or a Gravity Feed system fitted with a Shower Pump. Please note: we do not recommend water efficient showerheads for use with an Electric Shower as these are already Low Flow.

Will a Flowpoint water saving shower head fit my existing shower?

Flowpoint water saving showerheads will fit all existing fixed head pipes and all existing hand held shower hoses by their ½” standard thread connection.

I want to install a flow point shower head to my power shower. If the showerhead restricts the flow of water from the shower unit will there be any pressure build up?

No, the showerhead is fitted with a Flow Control Regulator which allows normal, but restricted, flow between 1-3 bar and regulates the flow by a diaphragm as pressure is increased, to never exceed 9 LP at 5.5 bar / 80 psi.  It will not cause pressure build up.   It is designed not to.

What is the symbol used for aeration function on the water efficient showerhead itself? Are all the symbols explained in the packaging?

There aren’t any symbols on the water saving showerheads, but the different settings (where relevant) are very clear to use and the showerheads have notched positions (i.e. the shower heads “clicks” into position for each setting).

Can I reduce the water flow using your water saving showerheads? If so, then by how much can the water flow be reduced?

The fixed and handheld water efficient showerheads we stock allow you to reduce the flow to a maximum of 7 to 8 litres at 80psi water supply.

I am interested in the 3 setting handheld water efficient showerhead. Is this compatible with a Mira Express Power Shower?

Yes, all of our water efficient showerheads would work with a power shower.

I have 5 bathrooms all with showers from a centrally pumped system. Will these showerheads be ok?

The answer is YES. All Flowpoint water saving showerheads will work very well on this system.

I’m interested in the three setting water efficient showerhead, only I’m unsure whether these are universal sizes. Also is installation as easy as screwing the old one off and screwing the new one on or do I have to replace the whole lot?

Should be universal size though you need to make sure you order a water saving handheld rather than fixed to wall head. Please keep in mind our returns policy. For a water efficient handheld, it is as easy as unscrewing your old showerhead, and replacing with your new.

Will using an aerated shower head affect the pressure of my shower? If anything, my current is far too weak.

If your pressure is too weak, then a Flowpoint water efficient showerhead will make it weaker. No manufacturers' water saving showers will boost flow rate unless they have been attached to a pump in some form.  i.e.  Power Shower or a dedicated separate Shower Pump.

You may want to ‘ Conduct Your Own Test ‘  to see what is discharging at the moment.   Anything under 9 litres per minute is considered efficient but if you get down to 7 litres per minute then it is very weak and not enjoyable.

In ECO mode you need to run your shower into a measured 9 ltr household bucket for 1 minute to see how much water you ‘ capture ‘ in the bucket.

If it exceeds 9 litres in less than 1 minute, then you can use our Shower Heads and it will save you water.  If however it does not reach 9 litres in 1 minute then you do not need one and may consider purchasing a pump.

Again, if you want an enhanced showering sensation,  you cannot do better than fitting a 1.5 bar pump from the DIY stores,  we can recommend some models for just £100.  Then fit a Flowpoint Shower and you have it all.
